Packing up…

How do you decided what to pack for five months away? Especially when you only have a 20kg bag allowance…  I struggle to keep within the weight limit on a holiday for two weeks, now I’ve got to find a way to fit ski gear, apres wear, toiletries, my favourite tea bags and a few reminders of home into my suitcase. It seems like an impossible feat for someone who packs about thirty different outfit choices for one day!  On the upside, it’ll definitely stop me from taking all those unnecessary ‘just-in-case’ items that stay in your suitcase for the entire duration of your stay.

I’ve been making lists and collecting bits for the past week now, but I’m still yet to actually pack anything. I don’t know if this is an actual ‘thing’, but I definitely have a phobia of actually putting the piles of clothes I’ve gathered physically into my suitcase. Whether its for a holiday or five months working abroad, I put it off until the last possible minute; its just so tedious. Whats more boring/stressful than attempting to fit 309583 items of clothing into a suitcase? Maybe watching videos of how to fit 309583 items of clothing into a suitcase on YouTube;  yes anything to make room for my new faux red leather skirt (which definitely won’t come in handy in the freezing Alps). So I guarantee that at about 8pm tomorrow evening I’ll be running around like a mad woman because I can’t find room for my electric toothbrush or my favourite pair of jeans. However, I feel like that is all part of the fun of heading off on a new adventure. As long as I don’t forget my passport, I think I’ll just about manage…
